The Quebracho Blanco wood for El Asador is sourced only from permitted areas where farming and cattle raising takes place.
In Paraguay, every project for land must give detailed environmental impact and forestry report submitted to and approved by the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development and the National Forestry Institute of Paraguay. These agencies make sure that within each land use project a sizeable area is protected and preserved as a natural reserve to counterarrest deforestation and promote natural forests.
After approvals are granted, those who make our Quebracho Blanco charcoal approach the farmers and cattle ranchers to buy the wood that would otherwise be discarded from the cleared areas. Only Quebracho Blanco wood is selected to be converted to El Asador premium lump charcoal.
